NYSEC is a student-led nonprofit strengthening media literacy and civic engagement in schools across New York. Every workshop we run, every lesson we build, and every facilitation guide we share with teachers is created and delivered by students, and offered to schools for free.
Your gift helps us reach more classrooms: printing materials, training student facilitators, developing new curriculum, and bringing media literacy and civil discourse to students across the state.

New York Student Engaged Citizenship, Inc. ("NYSEC") is a New York not-for-profit corporation (EIN 42-4360183), registered with the New York State Attorney General's Charities Bureau. NYSEC has applied to the Internal Revenue Service for recognition as a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3). Once granted, that status applies retroactively to our date of incorporation, and contributions made in the interim are expected to be tax-deductible; because our application is still pending, please consult your tax advisor regarding the deductibility of your gift.
