Yonkers Unified Student Council

NYSEC met with the Yonkers Unified Student Council: elected student representative from all nine high schools in Yonkers Public Schools. NYSEC gave a background of the organization, and created a Brave Space for students to discuss the Use of Non-Congressional Military Force, starting with historical context surrounding this issue (AUMF 2001 & 2002, War Powers Resolution), then moving towards current events regarding the Outing of Former Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro. The dialogue was extremely engaging and respectful, and we thank the students for taking their time to join us. We ended the session by encouraging everyone to reach out to us if they are intersted in bringing NYSEC to their schools.
